Hey, I’m Elijah — the creator of WordScroll.

This idea came out of a simple habit: I used to carry a small, pocket Bible with me everywhere I went. I knew I not only needed the Word near me, but in my heart. As time went on, I convinced myself it was “easier” to memorize with Bible apps, but I ended up getting extremely distracted. I knew that I needed to have a tool that I could use on the bus, in a waiting room, or to help me share the Gospel.

I knew I wanted to make something that would fit in my pocket, and also turn strangers heads for potential open doors to evangelism. I thought back to ancient scrolls and how they must have not been very portable at all, so I knew that I wanted to make a mini one. Thanks to incredible design help from a best friend, with over 21 different iterations of this tiny scroll, Wordscroll began.

WordScroll is a modern way to carry Scripture with you—physically, not digitally. It’s designed to encourage the discipline of Scripture memory, which I believe is one of the most neglected spiritual practices today. Memorizing God’s Word isn’t just for kids in Sunday school—it’s for all of us. It’s about hiding the Word in our hearts so that we can recall truth when we need it most. In moments of temptation. In seasons of doubt. In conversations with others. Psalm 119 says, “I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” That’s not a suggestion for any of us—it’s a way of life.

WordScroll is for anyone who wants to live intentionally. I designed it to be something you can pull out at a coffee shop, flip through during lunch at school, or carry during your commute. It’s for scrolling the Word instead of scrolling your phone. It’s for reminding yourself—daily—that God’s Word is worth carrying close.
